Multi-Vision FanViDAR
SI is an Authorized Reseller of SentientVision Pty Ltd for the innovative software products ViDAR, KESTREL LAND MTI and KESTREL MARITIME for Europe and Africa.
Basing upon the ViDAR technology SI has developed the Multi-Vision FanViDAR system that bundles 5 high precision digital cameras to give a persistent, wide area surveillance capability. Each camera has its own on-board computer running the ViDAR software that automatically detects objects in the water like small boats, rubber rafts or ship-wrecked people- even if they are not moving. The ViDAR software provides immediate thumbnail pictures and the Geo-position of the objects, which can be cross-cued to the EO/IR gimbal cameras like Wescam MX- 8 or MX-10 for further observation. Unlike a typical standard EO/IR camera the Multi-Vision FanViDAR looks horizontally, covering a 180° sector. Thus a huge footprint can be reached, which is about 100 times greater than those of standard EO/IR cameras and typical sea areas of 100.000 km2 can be observed with one flight. ViDAR delivers postprocessed images which can be transmitted via Satellite due to their small bandwidth. Thus, automatic missions become possible, which go far beyond the limiting range of direct data links.
